Whitening or Veneers? Here’s How to Actually Choose.

Start with what’s bugging you
If your teeth are shaped fine but they’ve gone yellow from coffee, tea, or a decade of red wine — whitening. If you’re bothered by chips, gaps, uneven edges, or teeth that are white but still don’t sit right — veneers.
Professional whitening in a nutshell
One in-office session (about an hour) can lighten your teeth several shades. Follow up with custom take-home trays and you’ll stay bright for years. Roughly $300–$550 at most DentaCare clinics, and often free after any completed treatment plan.
Porcelain veneers in a nutshell
Wafer-thin custom shells bonded to the front of the tooth. They fix shape, size, color, and small alignment issues in about two visits. Priced per tooth — most patients do their “smile zone” of 6 to 10. They last 10 to 20 years with normal wear.
